By the way, your prize from week 3 is finally on its way. With the holidays we got a little behind schedule but keep an eye out for it in the next few days. thanks so much for all your comments and reading along with us. We hope you'll check in throughout the year to keep tabs on what we will be continuing to do to support couples in 2012. :-)

I just have to say....relationships are hard work, really hard for me anyway. Twice in our long relationship we've been to counseling to help us get back on track. I'm only admitting this in case there's someone out there reading who is frustrated with the commuication in their relationship. Meeting with an expert did so many great things for us....it relieved the pressure of of trying rehash the same issues all week because we knew we could talk about it in our session. Each week we also had something specific we worked together on to resolve. Neither of our counselors took sides, they really helped us help ourselves and the effects are lasting. Also we now know if we need a little help in the future, it's there, and we feel better somehow knowing we're not alone!

This is sooooo true! Taking the time to go over the budget and schedule together avoids surprise arguments and lets each other know we are a priority despite all of life's challenges and responsibilities. Actually scheduling in our time is very important so that nothing else gets in between us that could cause resentment from feeling less important. Also anticipating time together gives us a chance to prepare what we can do to to make the other happy. As in the prior discussions about taking care of ourselves to look good and feel good!
