| The transition from adolescent to adult can be a challenging time for everyone. There many changes and decisions that come with finishing high school and moving forward to college or the workforce. In addition to these important choices, and the practical skills they require, there are also relational issues that often arise. Whether it is a blossoming romance, changes in your peer group, or simply renegotiating your role in your family- relationships can be very hard on a young adult. This new group is designed to address both the practical skills and emotional development that is necessary to navigate your way into adulthood. This 6-week group is designed to cover the basic issues that most people age 17-21 face. We will work on job seeking skills, money management, choosing a college or profession, and relationship skills. Join other people your age and learn how to effectively deal with the many choices facing you right now. Note: If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911 or go directly to your local Emergency Room or Community Mental Health Center. Prince William County Emergency Mental Health Services can be reached 24 hours a day at 703-792-7800. |
